In August 1961, it was announced that a zoo would be built in Dreher Park. Soon after the announcement, the Parks Department set to work building a red barn complete with a fenced-in barnyard with ample room for animals to roam. Today, the Palm Beach Zoo houses over 500 animals on 23 acres and sees approximately 300,000 visitors annually.

A National historic landmark. This spectacular and ornate mansion built by Henry Flagler, the father of Palm Beach. In 1902, the New York Herald proclaimed that Whitehall, Henry Flagler's Gilded Age estate in Palm Beach, was "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world."

At Lion Country Safari, large herds of animals from 6 continents roam free, while humans visiting are enclosed (in their vehicles). Hundreds of WILD animals including lions, wildebeest, giraffe, the largest herd of zebras on record in North America, ostrich, chimpanzees and rhinos call Lion Country Safari home and roam wide-open, naturalistic habitats.
